Osteoporosis Bone Scanning Day
In association with OsteoDenx, a non pharmaceutical drug solution to osteoporosis.
Thursday 27th May 2010 at 102 Park Avenue, North Bushey, WD23 2BB
Who is at risk from Osteoporosis?
Traditionally, women aged 50 years and over and those with genetic bone weakness.
New risk group:
Women 40 – 50 years, peri-menopausal and menopausal.
Men 45 years+ who are on long term medication.
People on cholesterol controlling diets or medication.
Women 30 – 40 years who took little exercise in their late teens and early 20's.
Most people are not referred for an NHS bone scan until they have broken at least 2 bones. By that time, they may have severe osteoporosis.
On the day, you can get a heel bone density scan carried out by an experienced technician for just £30 (normally £60+ if you go privately). Your results are confidential and you will receive a detailed printout. In addition, there will be a short presentation to help you understand bone health and how to improve it.
We are booking small groups together and ask you to allow approximately 1½ hours for the session. If you wish to bring friends or family, please let me know when you book so you can be grouped together.
This is an ideal opportunity to determine whether your bones are fully healthy or whether you are at risk, either now or in the future, from osteoporosis. The sooner you know, the sooner you can do something positive about it.
To make a booking, or for further information please email tracy@harmonichealth.net or call 01923 250605.
