"A double blind, placebo controlled study into the effect of soy isoflavones on menopausal symptoms"
50 subjects for 12 months. ˝ groups received 60mg per day of isoflavones (approx 1 sachet of Nutri5), ˝ group placebo.
Results: the isoflavone group reported a significant reduction in hot flushes, 44% total absence, 80% showed an overall reduction of hot flushes. Significant reductions in Kupperman index. The isoflavone group also showed a reduction of LDL and in increase of HDL. Side effects: minimal GI disturbance.
Conclusion: Isoflavones will significantly contribute to the reduction of menopausal symptoms.

Conclusion: the soy isoflavones showed a favourable effect on hot flushes, thus providing a safe andeffective alternative.

Conclusion: isolated soy isoflavones were associated with significant reduction in hot flushes with no significant side effects.
